“Startup Your Life” with Anna Akbari (CAS ’01)

You are invited to an alumni reading at the NYU Bookstore co-sponsored by Arts & Science Alumni Relations.

Anna Akbari (CAS '01) author of "Startup Your Life: Hustle and Hack Your Way to Happiness" (St. Martin's Press, 2016)

Wednesday, February 22, 6pm - 7:30pm
NYU Bookstore , 726 Broadway

"Startup Your Life" shows readers how to reach personal fulfillment in all areas and phases of life by using the same strategies that power Silicon Valley’s greatest startups. Akbari argues that one of the best things about startups is their ability to “pivot” quickly – basically a euphemism for failing and starting over – and she found that the path to personal success is no different. Living a startup life is about maximizing flexibility and measuring on-going results, not avoiding failure or reaching one particular end goal.

Dr. Anna Akbari is a sociologist, entrepreneur, innovation consultant, and writer.  She is a former professor in the department of Media, Culture, and Communication and the department of Art and Art Professions at New York University, as well as the Art and Design History and Theory department at Parsons The New School for Design.
